Meet The Animals
EDDIE
Riley is a Registered Quarter Horse Mare (female).
She is amazingly talented at ground work and is quick to learn new ground tricks. Riley is very sensitive to a persons body language and demeanor. She is great for teaching about the ways you communicate through body language and the way your emotions and demeanor can affect horses.
Riley has a disease call navicular which is a disease that affects the nerves in a horses hoof. The disease is advanced in Riley so she will probably never be able to take a rider on her but she is always eager and happy to serve and teach individuals on the ground.
Eddie is a registered Quarter Horse gelding (male) and has spent most of his life competing at the highest levels of AQHA showing. He has won many championship titles, saddles and buckles.
A few years ago, he had to retire from his show career after a hamstring injury. He is not in any pain but when he walks, you’ll notice he takes a short stride with one back leg.
Eddie is enjoying this new season in his life as the gentle giant of our program. He is great for helping individuals build confidence, comfort and assertiveness around horses.
RILEY
Teddy
Teddy is a gelding (male) mini horse and loves attention!
Teddy was rescued from a backyard where he was malnourished and mistreated. We were able to get him to a vet and he has been thriving ever since.
Teddy knows how to drive a horse drawn cart and is great for small children to learn to lead and groom a horse.
He is very patient but does not like loud high pitch noises or quick movements. Teddy is great at safely helping individuals learn how to keep a calm body and voice while working with horses.
Teddy loves treats and will let you sit and pet him all day.
Teddy is part of our community outreach animals and can come to you!
The Mini's
Remi and Marti
Marti, the grey Donkey and Remi, the brown Donkey are a bonded pair of geldings.
Both Donkeys are very gentle and kind, but you’ll notice Mari is more outgoing, while Remi is more reserve.
Mari and Remi were rescued from an auction in Texas where they were being prepared to ship to Mexico for slaughter. We are happy to have them here to show them love, Kindness and to build their trust in humans.
They love scratches on their cheeks and all treats!
Betsy
Betsy is an American Mini Pig that is full of personality. She loves bringing smiles to everyone's faces and will do anything for a treat!
Betsy is part of our community outreach program and is able to come and bring joy to you wherever you are!
